Kids Memory Blankets

I love to tidy up in my mothers attic from time to time. My mother has kept a lot’s of toys and clothes from when I was a kid, and it’s almost like Christmas Eve when I’m opening cases and bags to have a look at what’s inside. I find myself opening lots more cases and bags than needed for tidying up. Who can resist opening that bag with baby clothing? I never stop being amazed by the memories connected to old clothes.
I have recently discovered several ways of keeping those memories without putting them into bags and only seeing them once every five years or so.
One of the very best ways could be the Memory Blanket from Willow Creek Baby. You send in 16 pieces of clothing or more and they make cute, cuddly and very decorative blankets out of them. You can see some examples of the blankets that’s been made from peoples clothing at the Willow Creek Baby Gallery.
If the kids themselves get to help pick out the clothes they like the best for the blanket, it becomes a blanket full of good memories. Another good idea might be using an old bib or something with name embroidery. It will make a great patch in a blanket and you will get the kids name on there for free!
There are also other ways of re-cycling your old clothes. You can for example give your old favorite clothes to Mama Grüsli, and she will make soulful stuffed creatures from them. The old socks on the other hand can be sent to Murphy and Dennis at Stupid Sock Creatures. They will make incredible sock creatures out of them.
