Déglingos – Quirky Soft Animal Toys

Delingos Quirky Animal Soft Toys

Délingos are a bunch of very quirky looking soft toy animals and what a cute bunch! Each animal has tons of character and is made of several different fabrics. 50 different fabrics and strings with different textures, colors and patterns were used to make Délingos, so there is plenty to look at, feel and discover for babies and toddlers.

All Délingos have been made with focus on high quality and safety so they’re safe for any age, except Chikos and Pikos which is not recommended for kids under 3 years of age due to the risk of small threads being swallowed.

Deglingos can be bought at Giggling Toys and cost USD 39.00 each.

Pee&Poo – Forbidden Toys

Here’s something different! Emma Megitt, a designer from Sweden, created the cute Pee&Poo characters as her graduation project. She tried to create something that could adress the subject of the bodily functions we all use when going to the toilet, in an amusing and aesthetic manner. She ended up with the Pee and Poo characters.

Pee&Poo not only works well as cuddly plush toys and toilet training buddies, they have also been well received by the adult designer plush fans.

Pee&Poo are sold as plush toys, key rings, stickers and clothing. All products can be bought at Pee&Poo, or through a reseller. Resellers can be found here, under “Återförsäljare” in the top menu.

The plush toys duo package, with Pee and Poo, cost USD 32, and the key rings cost USD 7.50 each.

Figments – Soulful Designer Plush

studio04.jpgFirst time I saw Figments I was cruising through all the articles that had been piling up in my feed reader. Not so interesting articles usually gets about 1 sec. of attention while interesting ones get around 20 sec. (if they do not have a lot of text to read). The article about Figments had very little text, but it got about 1 min. of my time!

It was like the Figment characters were alive, and of course I was attracted to the high level of detail put into these characters. One can truly tell that these are one of a kind characters made by the hand of an artist who uses his art to express himself. These artists leave a small piece of themselves in every product, and I believe that’s how the characters end up so very alive and full of soul!

Figment was born out of the artists love for shoes, and that’s clearly visible by the major role the tiny baby sneakers serve in the characters. All the characters are made from carefully chosen fabrics and accessories, and through the process of their making their personalities take shape little by little.

It is a truly great “toy” for those of us who love designer plush with a whole lot of soul.

Figments will be available online when they get their web store up and running, and until then the characters can be found at Lower Haters (San Francisco), The Reed Space (NY) and Acycle (Tokyo).

Pinkie Pirate by Dooodolls

pinkie_pirate.jpg

Pinkie Pirate by Dooodolls is a super cute designer plush doll. It’s the kind of doll that not only mommy would love to give to her girl because of the cuteness factor, but daddy wouldn’t mind it either because of the toughness factor in the black eye patch.

I guess it kind of sends a great message to little girls; you can be both super cute and a bit tough at the same time :-)

A couple of other cool dolls which kind of sends the same message are the plush dolls SANDy and Mozzarella from Tokidokis. Soon to be released.

You’ll find Pinkie Pirate at Juvie, a great shop where they have cool toys, clothes and accessories for older kids. Not to many of those shops around.
