Pastel Toys

Pastel Toys are heirloom quality wooden toys handmade by disabled adults at their own self-sustaining community, a kibbutz, in Israel. It is quite a special community which manages to make the life of these disabled adults rich and meaningful by giving them work they can manage, somewhere to live and support from a community of people with similar situations as their own. Pintoy

Pintoy construction toys look beautiful with their natural and painted wood. There is everything needed to create a great big construction site in this series; a crane, a digger, a dumper truck, loaders, trailers, a set of construction equipments consisting of pneumatic drills, compactor and Compressor, wheelbarrow, pick and shovel, 2 traffic cones and 2 barriers. Heirloom Rattles

A nice wooden heirloom rattle, that will last a lifetime and can be inherited by the baby’s own kids, and grandkids, in the future, is priceless. Eco-friendly Wooden Puzzle Toys

The smooth, round edged wooden puzzle toys from Craftbury Kids are so elegant end cute, and will look fantastic on the shelf if the nursery or kids room. The natural wood is beautiful, but if you desire some colors, you could paint the different pieces in different colors of tox-free paint yourself! Plan Toys in general are great toys. I love the look of Plan Toys, and the attention the company gives to detail in their toys. They simply make beautiful designed children’s toys with a very modern touch. Oompa Toys has a great selection of Plan Toys.

When kids only need to take small stuff like keys, wallets and phones with them, it’s great for them to have a small pouch to keep it all in. Anatomy Of A Skirts handmade Robot Pouches are small, practical and cool looking.

The Robot Pouches are made out of silver or gold vinyl, which makes them water resistant and easy to clean with a damp cloth. They open by unzipping their mouths, and I think they’d work just as well as small pencil cases.

Now, for those who’d like to make some cool, paper models, but would like to start with something a bit easier than the Millennium Falcon, can have a look at what they offer over at Toypaper. There are some pretty cute monsters over there.

Toypaper also offer other models like a sneaker and the “Hand Holder”, which is plain white and allows you to customize it by drawing and painting.

For those who like animated paper toys, you should head over to Flying Pig, which offers lots of animated paper crafts. At Flying Pig there are free downloads but for most of the toys you have to pay a small amount.

First time I saw Figments I was “cruising” through all the articles that had been piling up in my feed reader. Not so interesting articles usually gets about 1 sec. of attention while interesting ones get around 20 sec. (if they do not have a lot of text to read). The article about Figments had very little text, but it got about 1 min. of my time!

It was like the Figment characters were alive, and of course I was attracted to the high level of detail put into these characters. One can truly tell that these are one of a kind characters made by the hand of an artist who uses his art to express himself. These artists leave a small piece of themselves in every product, and I believe that’s how the characters end up so very alive and full of soul!

Figment was born out of the artists love for shoes, and that’s clearly visible by the major role the tiny baby sneakers serve in the characters. All the characters are made from carefully chosen fabrics and accessories, and through the process of their making their personalities take shape little by little.

It is a truly great “toy” for those of us who love designer plush with a whole lot of soul.

I’ve never been such a big fan of bookends in the kid’s room. Heavy, hard objects along with the books on the shelf make it all seem so cold and serious.

I loved putting some of my teddy bears and soft toys up on the shelf when I was a kid and it made me feel much more at home. This is probably the reason I got a very warm feeling when I saw the elephant bookends. I think I would have loved having those as a kid, and they would have made my bookshelves a lot more tidy as my teddy bears and soft toys had much to light bottoms!

The heirloom quality elephant bookends are handmade of cowhide and filled with steel shots.
