The Message Tape is a tape you can write messages on, by blacking out the unwanted white dots and lines. It comes as a digital version and a pixel version, both with white dots/stripes on a black background.
The Message Tape would work well as door signs and nametags. It’s easy for kids to create nice letters and numbers on it, and for younger kids it might be quite a mind exercise to black out the right dots and stripes.
Both tapes come in two different sizes, which can be purchased at SUCK UK for 5 and 7,50 pounds.

The Animal Plug Safety Covers from Decor Craft Inc. seems like a great idea to making sure a child can’t put fingers or knitting pins and such into the electrical outlets, but then again, won’t these cute and rightly colored covers make the outlets even more interesting?
I’m kind of torn between “oh, how clever” and “oh, how very dangerous!”, but either way they’re awfully cute!

I simply love these shower curtains! Besides being functional and environmentally friendly, they also provide the kids with something fun to look at and lots of educational information.
Kids love to explore and discover stuff all by themselves, and that is why I think these shower curtains are so great. They provide a brilliant way of feeding the little ones information by surrounding them with it in a colorful and fun way. It’s a superb way of tricking them into learning new stuff.
You’ll find lots of different educational shower curtains at Simple Memory Art.
Thanks to Cynthia for the tip! She and her children have first hand experience with these shower curtains, and think they are great.

I’ve never been such a big fan of bookends in the kid’s room. Heavy, hard objects along with the books on the shelf make it all seem so cold and serious.
I loved putting some of my teddy bears and soft toys up on the shelf when I was a kid and it made me feel much more at home. This is probably the reason I got a very warm feeling when I saw the elephant bookends. I think I would have loved having those as a kid, and they would have made my bookshelves a lot more tidy as my teddy bears and soft toys had much to light bottoms!
The heirloom quality elephant bookends are handmade of cowhide and filled with steel shots. They are not only heavy and sturdy but also soft and flexible, which makes them perfect bookends for the kids room or nursery, as they can be seated in different positions, making them lifelike for kids. The natural cowhide gives the elephant bookends some very cute folds around the chest and tummy area when seated up against books, and the huge ears adds a whole lot to the cuteness as well.
The bookends come as giraffes as well as elephants and can be bought in pairs or singles. Both versions can be found at romp, along with lots of toys and other accessories for the kids room.
I can imagine many of the little boys out there, who haven’t even seen any of the Star Wars movies, would love to have a robot trashcan like the R2-D2 Trashcan, . Not that it really matters if it can aid them in keeping their rooms tidy.
The big size and the incredible details of the trashcan makes it more of a toy and a cool figure than a simple trashcan.
The Star Wars R2-D2 Trashcan is 24″ tall, has a durable vinyl construction, a removable interior can and a foot pedal for easy opening. It is available at ThinkGeek. Unfortunately the first shipment sold out really fast, but they are getting a new shipment in June or July.
If you are thinking about getting one, I suggest joining the “e-mail me when available” function at their website, because there is no way of knowing how fast they will sell out, and if there will be more after that.

Rehabilitated Dishware is the brainchild of Sarah Cihat and was a part of her thesis project at Parsons School of Design. By re-designing and re-surfacing used and unwanted dishes she gives them a new and much longer life.
The ceramic plates, which she finds at places like Goodwill, Salvation Army or the reject piles at retail stores, are transformed from their old look to modern, stylish and colorful plates that would make any dinner table look amazing, especially at parties. This way of renewing used and unwanted things is of course also a great way of helping reduce the strain on the environment.
Many of the plates have colors and illustrations which make them great gift ideas for children. Not only would the dishes be great to eat from but they would also work well as decoration in a child’s bedroom. After all, the dishes are valuable and collectible designer pieces.
Sarah Cihats Rehabilitated Dishware has been featured in magazines like Elle, O at Home, Food & Wine, Nylon and Metropolitan Home and you can read more about the dishes at Sarah Cihat.

The Gucio shoe is a truly remarkable shoe for children. It was made out of love for children, and with the intent to make the perfect shoe for them.
